Where is Chris?

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2006

On the 29th January, Chris said he was 5 weeks into his 7 week holiday, so he should be back at school by now. Is the trauma so great he cannot cope with writing his blog. I see he has put comments on other blogs one even fairly early in the morning, well 9ish which proves he must be at school cos he couldn’t do thinking at that time during the hols. Maybe he is taking fungus out for a run now his 2 months are up. Maybe he has sunstroke in the hot Aussie sun. Maybe just the drink! drink? good idea!

I hate HBOS

Monday, February 20th, 2006

Jim came home yesterday so was tired and jet lagged. R. arrived late afternoon from a disasterous weekend in Edinburgh to 2 letters from the HBOS one dated the 10th and one the 16th (both arriving on the 18th) saying she had not been able to cover payments to paypal and they were going to charge her £39 per transaction plus £28 if she was to be overdrawn by them doing this. DUH! So we trip off to the bank today 3 of us . Wee R and the 2 heavies to look out for her. We speak to the teller (a lone monkey) who cannot do anything without one of their many organ grinders decisions. BUT! He then informs her that there is another letter in the post similar to that one. Seemingly something happened on pay pal which meant that if the method of payment had changed . In the past if she never had the cash to pay she would be refused the item now they submit it to the bank and she gets the goods and a lovely extortion letter from the bank. Eventually, though, it was all sorted because one of the many organ grinders did waive the £145 on condition she did not do it again. £145 F****** for about £20 quid. They like to choose those that cannot afford it to screw the most. We are thinking of changing everything to the RBOS. We did open a business account with them cos we went to our local branch of the HBOS who said we should see one of their business people in our main branch. So we make an appointment to see him and went along. We spoke to this wee laddie who was wet behind the ears who didn’t know the difference between limited companies, partnerships and all other various connotations of business arrangements. He said it would take up to 16 days to set up. He said someone would have to come out to our house to make sure that we were us (after 20 years of banking with them.) He said the business people in Inverness would contact us by phone and he would give us a follow up phone call in 10 days. We shook hands and walked out crossed the road opened an account with the RBOS within 4 days have a personal banker and get better exchange rate euro – pound than we ever got with the HBOS. The wee laddie didn’t phone us nor did anyone from their business section in Inverness. I wonder if he saw us crossing the road. So that is my moan how was your day.
